LISA & JAMES WEDDING

On Saturday we headed over to the stunning Abbots Court in the heart of Dorset https://abbots-court.co.uk/ -a wonderful old farmhouse in its own private grounds. A perfect setting for Lisa and James to finally tie the knot after 23 years.

The great thing about Abbots Court is that everything is in one place - there’s no need to travel and the grounds are stunning.

When we arrived at the venue we were met by the great people from https://effortlesselegancebyhollylouise.co.uk/events who kindly showed us around the grounds, where we bumped into the bride and groom just chilling out and generally enjoying the morning. We knew then that this would be a very relaxed day, especially as they didn’t really want any posed images, so for us it was a day of documentary photography.

We also met up with our other partner in crime, the lovely videographer Jenny https://filmcroft.wordpress.com/

The whole morning was a busy affair as most of the family and guests were lodging at the venue so there was a lot to shoot.

After a few shots around the house we headed up to the bridal suite where we captured the girls getting ready and Lisa’s infectious smile as she prepped for the ceremony with makeup being done by Emma Kay www.emmakayMUA.co.uk and hair by www.facebook.com/slacouturehair

As the guest were seated in the outdoor venue, the groom and his party made their theatrical entrance - James being held up by his best men while young James brought up the rear sporting a sparkly bum bag full of glitter.

The bridesmaids followed and looked stunning in their dresses and as they took their positions, Lisa and her father walked down the aisle.

All heads turned while James couldn’t hold back his emotion and a few tears of joy were shed.

The ceremony was a beautiful affair with readings from friends and it wasn’t long before the happy couple had tied the knot and were heading back down to the house to quaff a well-deserved drink.

Shortly after, we cracked on with the family & group shots then headed back to the house to shoot the speeches and wedding breakfast.

The speeches were warm, funny and heartfelt. The room was adorned with wonderful décor and beautiful sunflowers.

The speeches were followed by an outdoor BBQ and then for afters an ice cream van turned up much to the surprise of the younger guests.

More photos followed as we shot the happy couple mixing with their guests. Then it was time for the first dance.

The couple hugged it out as they danced in front of their guests, after which everyone piled in for a group knees up.

It was a wonderful day at a wonderful venue. Lisa & James were lovely in every way and we wish them all the best with their new life together.
