On Monday we headed over to Steamer Point, a beautiful place between Mudeford and Highcliffe, to meet up with Laura & Maciej.

They will be getting married at Sopley Mill https://sopleymill.co.uk/ in September so they booked us to do a pre-wedding shoot before the big day.

Laura & Maciej hadn’t been on a shoot before so this was a great opportunity to find out a bit about them and put them at ease in front of the camera.

We stopped at a few locations to get them warmed up then headed over to the top of the cliff.

Although we get our couples to pose, we try to do it in a way that keeps a distance, so it doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

Heading down to the Castle, we took a few individual portraits, then headed down to Highcliffe beach.

Being summer, the beach was fairly busy but this didn’t phase Laura & Maciej. We shot a few frames on the stone groyne then a few walking shots along the beach.

While we walked, we chatted and got to know each other. It was also a great opportunity to discuss wedding plans.

We then headed back up to the cliff top stopping to take a last few shots before heading back to Steamer Point car park.

Pre-shoots are a great way of getting to know your clients and their needs, as well as taking fun photographs. We hope that Laura & Maciej had a great time and we look forward to photographing their big day in September.
